The Rwanda Development Board has announced the temporary suspension of issuing new gaming licenses in the country.
In a statement, the board said, “According to the Prime Minister’s Order No 028/03 OF 28/06/2024 DETERMINING THE REGULATORY AUTHORITY FOR GAMING ACTIVITIES; the Rwanda Development Board has been vested with the responsibility to regulate gaming activities.”
“In its capacity as the new regulatory authority, RDB is leading the review of the policy and the regulatory framework of gaming activities in Rwanda. We wish to inform the general public and potential applicants that the issuance of new gaming licenses and the renewal of currently expired licenses, is temporarily suspended until the new Policy has been approved.”
The board was not clear on when the new policy will be approved and all parties affected will have to sit and wait for that.
